About the role

Are you a driven individual who is passionate about bringing history to life?

The Bodleian Libraries is looking for two enthusiastic team players interested in delivering exemplary customer service to join our dedicated Front of House team. As a Visitor Host, you will work with a diverse range of people from varied backgrounds, delivering a world-class service for every visitor.

Putting visitors first, you will pride yourself on delivering engaging and informative guided tours to an international audience whilst proactively promoting and selling the Bodleian’s range of public offers.

This role involves working to a daily staffing schedule where you will be required to move around the different service point positions, walk groups around the site on guided tours, and lift and move lightweight equipment.

This is a permanent post, with 2 part-time vacancies available working across a 2-week rota:

Vacancy 1: 13.75 hours (average across 2 weeks). The working days are:

•       Week 1: Monday, Saturday, Sunday

•       Week 2: Monday, Sunday

Vacancy 2: 14.125 hours (averaged across 2 weeks). The working days are:

•       Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Sunday

•       Week 2: Tuesday, Sunday

About You

You will have experience of working confidently under pressure in a customer-focused environment. You will be able to communicate clearly with an ability to relate to visitors of all ages and nationalities.
