We are looking for a detail orientated Financial Accounting Assistant to join our Financial Reporting team here at the University of Bristol. The team delivers financial accounting and reporting services for the University, including internal and external reports, statutory returns and budget. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a prestigious institution, supporting a key function within the Finance Division.
As Financial Accounting Assistant you will provide day to day financial analytical and accounting support to the Financial Accountant, as well as ensuing that agreed financial policy is implemented in all areas across the organisation. You should have a keen interest in financial accounting, including balance sheet reconciliations.
You will be required to take a customer-focused approach to the provision of financial information and analysis for the Group Financial Accountant and other team members who require assistance in relation to financial matters.
- Working to tight deadlines you will take an organised approach to ensure work packages are undertaken.
- You will ensure details relating to the year-end process are collated and communicated.
- Reviewing accounts, you will undertake Balance Sheet reconciliations, assist with statutory returns, and prepare schedules for internal and external auditors.
- You will analyse, extract, and manipulate data to apply basic accounting principes and assist with query investigation.
- You hold, are studying towards the AAT Accountancy Qualification, or you can demonstrate a similar level of knowledge gained through experience.
- With excellent analytical and numerical skills, you are able to work with data effectively
- You should have an aptitude for working with finance and non-finance specialists and a customer service focused attitude.
- You should be a good communicator, able to organise workloads effectively and work well under pressure.
