We have a vacancy for a Facilities Support Assistant within Estates and Facilities based on the Plymouth campus.  Under the direction of the Facilities Co-ordinator, you will ensure that Facilities across campus are clean, run efficiently and safely for students, staff and visitors.

You will be the point of contact for students, staff and visitors so need to be able to engage and communicate in a positive interaction with a diverse range of customers.

This is a hands on role working with and organising the campus support team delivering a responsive service including waste/recycling collection and removal, waste stream separation, classroom checks, room set ups, furniture moves, delivery of post and parcels along with minor repairs.

You will be responsible for organizing and planning the logistics of the campus support team and equipment using a number of University systems such as timetabling.  You will also be expected to provide cover for the Facilities Support Assistant (Shipping) in despatching goods throughout the world including all customs documents.

You will need to be a good communicator with excellent prioritisation skills, strong attention to detail who is flexible and proactive.

You will have a sound awareness of health and safety matters including manual handling and risk assessment.  Due to the nature of the work, you must be in good health, physically fit and happy to work outside in all weathers.  A uniform along with full PPE will be provided.

A current full driving licence (manual transmission) is essential as you will be driving University of Plymouth vehicles.  This role is also subject to health surveillance with our Occupational Health team.

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a permanent basis.  Hours of work will predominantly be Monday to Friday between 8.00 – 16.00.  Some flexible working with your hours may be required, including occasional evening/weekend working.
