About the role  

The Surrey Research Park at the University of Surrey is seeking a dedicated and proactive Facilities Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our research park facilities, providing exceptional support to our tenants and visitors. 

A key responsibility of this position includes conducting several parking patrols daily and issuing parking tickets to enforce parking regulations.

Responsibilities:  

  • Parking Management - Conduct multiple parking patrols daily to monitor parking areas. Issue parking tickets for violations of parking regulations.
  • Facilities Maintenance - Perform routine inspections, through completing check sheets of the park’s facilities to ensure consistent operation, cleanliness and safety compliance.
  • Customer Service - Provide friendly and efficient service to tenants and visitors, addressing any inquiries or concerns. Liaise with contractors and service providers to ensure timely and effective maintenance and repair work. Assist in coordinating tenant move-ins and move-outs. Occasional Driving duties
  • Administrative Support - Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and facilities usage. Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation as required by the Operations Manager. Manage the inventory of facilities supplies and equipment.

Demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to seamlessly switch between roles as needed. 

Requirements:  

  • Previous experience in a facilities operational role is advantageous but not mandatory.  
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to enforce rules and regulations fairly.
  • Physical fitness to handle lifting and moving of heavy objects or equipment.  
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Drivers Licence is essential for this role.
