Overview

About the Role 

The Executive Assistant to the Transfusion Academic Group will provide professional support to the Principal Investigator (Dr Laura Green) in the development and implementation of research and teaching strategic initiatives.  

The post holder will have specific responsibility to plan, implement and oversee the smooth running of research and teaching activities of the PI to ensure that these are delivered effectively, as per the requirements of PI’s, senior managers and external stakeholders.  

About You 

In line with the Person Specification, you will be able to provide managerial and administrative support to the Principal Investigator in blood transfusion. You must have prior experience in planning and delivering work activities and using initiative and judgement to ensure strategic objectives are met. You should have excellent communication and organisational skills and maintain a high level of accuracy in your work.  

The post holder should be able to work both independently and as part of a team and possess strong interpersonal skills to deal professionally with people at all levels, be proactive in driving opportunities, working in a planned way to meet deadlines, and managing a portfolio of studies at different stages. 

About the School/Department/Institute/Project 

The Blizard Institute was established in 2003 and is one of six Institutes within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, QMUL. The Institute comprises approximately 360 staff based in four academic Centres and one Public Engagement Centre, and supports a combined total of c700 postgraduate research and taught students. The Institute aims to deliver excellence in all aspects of research, teaching and clinical service.
