About the Department

The Communications, Marketing and Recruitment (CMR) department plays a central role in telling the Goldsmiths story to our key audiences. The department covers internal communications, media relations, strategic communications, brand and design, digital (website, video and social media), marketing, business partnering, and UK and International recruitment. About the role

We are seeking an Events Manager to join our Marketing and Events team. The Events Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of Goldsmiths’ schedule of student events covering recruitment, conversion, campus tours, and graduation presentation ceremonies. The post holder will be responsible for the planning, delivery, and review of such events.

The role requires expert knowledge of the processes associated with event management within an HE context, and excellent customer service skills. The post holder will be responsible for the development, implementation and review of events and activities and will entail strategic development of event provision and the post holder will need to ensure a seamless experience for prospective students and their influencers as they move through the student journey from an events perspective.

About the candidate

You will be someone who enjoys a large workload and remit, who can develop solid events plans, manage multiple events with overlapping deadlines, is able to prioritise sensibly, and can manage the expectations of colleagues and stakeholders, and who can deliver and events to the highest possible standards to ensure recruitment targets are met but also that attendee experience is impactful.

You must be an excellent team player, reliable and a good communicator. You must be committed to the highest quality of service and to ensuring an outstanding student experience, as well as your own professional development. You must be able to demonstrate an understanding of, and empathy for the needs of a unique, diverse and student community.
