This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.
This new full – time post is available from immediately on a permanent basis and will be based on our Penryn campus. The post requires some out-of-hours work to support events during evenings. The anticipated pattern would be one evening per week during term time, with this arrangement allowing for flexible start times.
Summary of the role
This post offers an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual with a keen interest in providing excellent customer service to students and staff in all matters relating to careers and employability support. They will plan administer student placements, organise events, and support student communications.
The post holder will be part of the Employer Engagement and Student Employment team supervising a range of planning and administrative duties to facilitate the approval and promotion of credit bearing student placements. In addition, they will support the team in the successful delivery of employer and alumni focused events both virtually and in-person on campus. These include careers fairs, recruitment presentations, employability skills sessions, networking, and promotional events. The post holder will also support in the creation and delivery of key communications activities such as email newsletters, social media, and printed materials.
About you
We are looking for someone with excellent organisation skills along with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines under pressure as the post holder will approving clusters of placements and delivering a busy schedule of events. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication and IT skills (especially the Microsoft Office suite including Teams and Sharepoint) and have experience of working in an administration role where customer service is a priority. Excellent written skills and attention to detail will be advantageous as this role includes writing and proof-reading content for digital marketing purposes. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in an events delivery role combined with experience in the Higher Education sector. The post holder will have line management responsibility and therefore experience of mentoring or line management would be advantageous. We need someone with a “can do” attitude to join our friendly and ambitious team.
Student Employability and Academic Success
The Employer Engagement and Student Employment team sits within the SEAS department, which resides within the Education and Student Support Directorate. We are responsible for providing key education and administrative support activities that underpin the student experience. SEAS consists of professional services teams that provide a portfolio of educational activities to assist students with the development of their academic, professional, personal, career and employability attributes throughout their time at the University, including global experience opportunities.
