Updated: 3 days ago
Location: City of Leicester, ENGLAND

About the role
In October 2020 the University embarked on an exciting venture in the delivery of a five-year programme taught in China and jointly awarded by Chongqing Medical University and the University of Leicester. This joint educational programme gained formal PRC Ministry of Education approval in May 2020 and welcomed its first cohort of students in October 2020 to a BSc in Clinical Sciences. Students undertake a single, jointly conceived and delivered programme of study which leads to two awards, one from each contributing institution. The programme is taught using English and Mandarin as the medium of instruction by academic staff from the UK and PRC. The University of Leicester is responsible for teaching a minimum of a third of the five-year programme. Staff will be responsible for teaching an intensive English for Academic purposes course on two 30-credit modules to the year 1 students.
About you

You should be able to adapt to institutional and student needs and be willing to collaborate with colleagues in the ongoing development of the English language programme. Additionally, as this is a collaborative provision delivered offshore, you should be able to adapt to unpredictable challenges both inside and outside the classroom. You will hold a recognised TEFLI qualification, such as CELTA or the equivalent, with substantial experience EFL. You will also have experience of teaching on pre-sessional or in-sessional EAP courses in a university context.
