Digital Core – HR Subject Matter Expert (Organisation)

Internal Applicants Only

Fixed term contract/secondment to 31st July 2024

APM, Level 5, Full time (part-time applications will be considered with 29 hours per week as the minimum number of weekly working hours)

Condition of application: Due to the timing required for the successful candidate to be available for this role, you must be available to start (or for internal secondments, have prior approval from your line manager to be able to be released from your existing post) by no later than 1st March 2024.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in a transformational system-led business change project, at an exciting time as we progress towards go-live in May 2024.

The University has embarked on an exciting new programme of work (Digital Core) to replace its existing digital services offering in the HR, Finance and Procurement areas with UniCore (our new HR, Finance and Procurement system). We are now well advanced into the Digital Core project and we have a new opportunity for a HR Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team to support our existing team of HR SMEs as we continue to prepare for go-live.

The HR SME (Organisation) role will support our workstream across a number of areas of the project including ensuring the integrity of the organisation hierarchy within UniCore including delivering and maintaining a comprehensive and accurate supervisory structure for relevant people types (employees, casual workers, contingent workers). The role holder will also ensure appropriate management of positions within the organisation (establishment control) through approval workflows.

You will be involved in activities including, but not limited to, collection and delivery of the supervisory hierarchy structures, engagement with University stakeholders at all levels, testing and in the design and delivery of user guides, training and engagement. The role holder will liaise closely with colleagues across the project, including our implementation partner, Mastek, as well across the wider University community.

So who are we looking for? We are looking for someone with a high degree of initiative who can think conceptually and analytically and can work effectively under pressure. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential. You will also possess an applied working knowledge of HR processes. You will be comfortable working at pace; able to bring others along with you and you will have excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

To apply for this role please follow the link to Vacancy Manager where you will be asked to complete a basic application form and to provide no more than a 500 word expression of interest where you should focus on explaining how your knowledge, skills, and behaviours align to the role profile.

Closing date: Thursday 4th January 2024

Interviews will be scheduled for 16 and/or 17 January 2024

If you would like to know more about this opportunity please contact Peter McCracken, Digital Core HR Workstream Lead, e-mail: [email protected]
