The Advancement Division is in search of an organised, proactive, and diplomatic Development Team Assistant to join their ambitious team, to provide administrative support, research and data analysis to the Faculty of Medicine’s Development Team.

This team’s strategy reflects the divisional focus on raising funds for scholarships, academic positions, research centres and capital projects. We secure private financial support from those who are committed to our academic mission and building Imperial’s global reputation. A significant element of the team’s work is to engage with and manage internal and external high impact and high visibility relationships, to ensure we contribute significantly to the Advancement’s Division’s annual £60m+ target by strengthening and enlarging our supporter base, and increasing philanthropic support and alumni engagement. Our success as a team and Division relies on extremely motivated and skilled administration professionals to ensure the smooth running of the Division.

Duties and responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for support the work of the Faculty of Medicine’s Development Team, providing a platform for a high functioning and complex business unit, creating and maintaining a professional image.

This support will range from the strategic, such as prospect and stewardship management, to the administrative. Key responsibilities will include diary management, drafting correspondence and reports, data entry and analysis, preparing presentations, making travel arrangements, processing financial requirements as well as other office administration.

Essential requirements

The post holder will be a proactive self-starter, able to work efficiently, build strong relationships, work well both independently and with others, solving problems, providing information and workable solutions to issues as required. The ability to prioritise tasks effectively and communicate clearly is essential. This role would suit an individual with drive and a keen interest in medical research fundraising as well as higher education.
