Are you an experienced PA, Secretary or Administrator with excellent customer service skills? Can you balance completing demands and priorities, with the confidence to work well with staff at all levels? 

If so, this full time, fixed term role as PA to the Directorate could be for you.   

You will work closely with the Director and Assistant Directors to provide a range of administrative and secretarial support with a particular focus on diary management, supporting meetings including minute taking and also a number of ad hoc projects – as well as ensuring the smooth running of the Directorate.

Your role will enable these senior roles to focus their attention on strategic and management tasks. You will be trusted to work efficiently and effectively using your discretion and understanding particularly around, at times, the confidential nature of the work. 

In this role you will be at the heart of leadership working in a fast-paced, varied and exciting environment. 

As PA to the Directorate you will:

  • Provide a highly confidential PA service to members of the Directorate
  • Plan, organise and service meetings and committees
  • Undertake a range of administrative tasks, including planning, responding to enquiries, drafting documents and undertaking research
  • Administer a range of transaction financial and procurement processes, coordinating with the Department Administrator
  • Be a first point of contact to visitors and staff, demonstrating excellent customer service skills at all times

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Proven PA, secretarial or administrative experience in a busy office
  • Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office (intermediate level),
  • An interest and willingness to learn about current issues in Higher Education
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Diary management and minute taking experience
