The Docking Station is a unique legacy project in the heart of Medway, a new hub for culture, creativity and digital innovation for students, academics, creative businesses, and communities. This creative centre, led by iCCi, will embrace and inspire communities in Kent and play a key role in the cultural regeneration of Medway. With construction planned for 2024, the development will result in the conversion of the Homes England-owned Police Section House – a Grade II listed Scheduled Ancient Monument at The Historic Dockyard – into a new 21st Century creative industries’ accelerator space known as The Docking Station.

What you will do :

  • Work with the Head of Marketing, Project Team, partners and stakeholders to develop a Docking Station web presence reflecting the profile of the project, ensuring the site is regularly updated and information is current, clear and timely.
  • Prepare email communications with subscribers to Docking Station/iCCi email updates/blogs
  • Manage Docking Station content across iCCi social media channels, to generate high levels of engagement, widening reach and increasing awareness of the Docking Station project
  • Help deliver promotional events for Docking Station, working closely with the Docking Station team

 What you will need :

  • Previous experience in a marketing or communications environment
  • Experience of creating and printing marketing materials
  • Previous use of website CMS systems (updating websites)
  • Knowledge of social media platforms, especially Twitter, Facebook and Instagram
  • Previous use of Microsoft Office systems, including word and excel

Please note that we prioritise applications from current University of Kent redeployees. We will let you know if this post is to be filled by a redeployee as, in this instance, your application will unfortunately not be taken forward.

Applications must be made via the University’s online application system; CVs or details sent directly to the department or via email cannot be considered.
