Are you a talented Content Designer who cares about improving the experience of students on their journey into higher education? The University of Brighton is looking for an individual to join our dynamic team, playing a crucial role in developing and maintaining student recruitment-focused web content. This is an opportunity to contribute to our strategic student recruitment goals and make a positive difference to the experience of new students.

About the role: 

As a Content Designer, you will collaborate with service area and information owners, as well as the marketing team, to ensure that published content is user-centred, accurate, timely, persuasive, and aligned with the university's brand and recruitment objectives. Emphasis will be placed on effective collaboration, adherence to content standards, advocacy for user accessibility, and driving continuous improvement in content based on performance analysis, user needs, and strategic objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop student recruitment-focused content, primarily on the university website, following user-centred design principles.
  • Contribute to regular website content audits and evaluations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
  • Collaborate with content owners and stakeholders from across the university to develop or update recruitment-related content, aligning with content goals.

Your profile:

  • Clear and creative writing ability, producing grammatically correct, accurate, engaging, and audience-focused work.
  • Experience collaborating with subject matter experts and stakeholders, building important relationships.
  • Knowledge of how to create effective content for websites and other digital channels. This includes experience in content auditing, writing and editing (including pair writing), user research and developing user stories.

This is a full-time permanent post based in Brighton, UK. We operate an agile working system with time split between working on campus and at the employee's home. It is the University's expectation that home working will take place within the UK.
