Clare College seeks to appoint a College Teaching Officer (CTO) to the Turpin-Lipstein Fellowship in Law to begin in October 2024. This is a permanent position and the role holder will be eligible for election to a Class B Fellowship at the College.
Applicants should be able to offer teaching in at least two subjects within the Law Tripos and preference may be given to applicants who can teach Contract, Land, and Equity. This includes undertaking twelve hours supervision a week during Full Term for the College as well as participating in the undergraduate admissions process for Law.
The successful applicant will have completed (or be nearing the completion of) a PhD or be of an equivalent standing, such as possessing outstanding results in academic qualifications with relevant experience. They may also have postdoctoral experience and will have active plans for research publication. Their areas of study should also complement the College’s two permanent teaching Fellows in Law, Kirsty Hughes and Alpa Parmar. Dr Hughes teaches Human Rights and Public Law and Dr Parmar teaches Criminal Law and Criminology, Sentencing, and the Penal System.
