College Associate Lectureship and Fellowship in Private Law

St John’s College is looking to appoint a College Associate Lecturer and Fellow in Private Law from 1 October 2024.  This is an early career development post and is offered for a fixed-term period of five years.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach nine hours of small group teaching a week during the twenty teaching weeks of the year (amounting to 180 hours of contact time) and to assume a role as Director of Studies in Law (for which additional remuneration will be paid) if required.  He or she will also be expected to pursue scholarly research with a view to building up a high quality publication record.  Other duties include College examining, participating in the selection of candidates for admission, attendance at Open Days, and general support for the academic development of the Law students in College.

The salary will be in the range of £40,521 - £45,585 p.a., depending on experience; the post is pensionable under the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS).  The successful candidate will also be provided with the usual benefits of a Fellowship in the College, and membership of the Faculty of Law in the University of Cambridge.
