We seek to appoint a clinical research associate to assist the team at the Institute of Metabolic Science led by Professor Sir Stephen O'Rahilly in their programme of research focused on phenotyping human carriers of homozygous mutations in genes involved in metabolic and endocrine processes, recalled by genotype.
This is a collaborative body of work undertaken with Professor David Van Heel at Queen Mary University London.
The post holder, who must be GMC registered and possess membership of a UK Royal College or equivalent, will be responsible for recruitment and phenotyping of participants largely based in East London, Bradford and Manchester. The majority of recruitment will be in East London and it would be advantageous for the candidate to be easily able to see participants there.
The candidate will spend some time in Cambridge learning analytical and other aspects of human genetics. For a suitably motivated and skilled person, the project would be suitable for PhD training at the University of Cambridge.
Interested candidates should contact Professor O'Rahilly on [email protected]
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 March 2031 in the first instance.
This appointment requires an Honorary Clinical Contract.
