Salary: Grade 6 (£30,487 - £36,024 p.a. Depending on experience)

This role will be based our university campus with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner.   We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

Are you interested in using your extensive IT skills in an innovative clinical research environment? Are you an enthusiastic and driven individual with a desire to be part of an Information Systems team delivering high quality regulatory compliant IT services to support complex research?

You will be part of the Clinical Trials Research Unit (CTRU) which conducts national and international randomised and early phase clinical trials in a variety of clinical fields, including, cancer, cardiovascular disease and stroke, mental health, obesity, skin, musculoskeletal disease and care of the elderly. Our main aim is to support the challenge of changing clinical practice for the better.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a team of IT professionals in one of the country’s largest Clinical Trials Units. As the Client Support Specialist Technician you will be a senior member of a dynamic team dealing with requests and incidents directed to IT Services. You will work with a diverse range of customers, technologies and devices across the LICTR, responding to incidents and support requests, acting as a source of technical expertise for colleagues, an escalation point for complex issues, and customer liaison where appropriate. With a professional approach and excellent customer service and communication skills, you will play a key role in ensuring users can access core IT services. 

You will use your breadth of experience to improve the processes and standards by which the Client Services team operates. Your experience will be supported by strong technical knowledge of operating systems, device administration, data management, software and security which you will use to tackle our more challenging incidents and requests, and support and develop your colleagues. You will work largely autonomously, managing your own workload and coordinating colleagues in the course of projects that you will be managing.
