Overview

About Role

  • To supervise a team of cleaners, team leaders and janitors who undertake cleaning duties in and around the University’s non-residential buildings during the day.
  • To assist the Facilities Co-Ordinator in planning, organising and monitoring the service, including liaising with internal customers and other departments, as well as monitoring stock levels and usage.
  • To ensure a comprehensive cleaning service is provided, in compliance with University and legal procedures and health & safety regulations.
  • To organise the daily workload of the cleaning team, ensuring a fair and effective distribution of work and creating weekly rotas, adjusting them as required in line with operational needs.

About You

  • To have a Level 2 NVQ in Cleaning and Support Services or equivalent relevant experience.
  • GCSE English and Maths or equivalent vocational qualifications
  • To be able to lead a team to deliver excellent within the cleaning department.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and COSHH
