The award winning NWSLC Catering & Hospitality Department are looking to recruit a Chef Lecturer to joint our ambitious and creative team.


The current provision includes the highly acclaimed Glegegate Restaurant and our recently reimagined Glebe Street food outlet, both of which are staffed by our students.

We are looking for a Chef who wants to share their skills and industry knowledge to develop the next generation through high quality teaching, learning and assessment and continued involvement in competitions.

The successful applicant will be an experienced and successful Chef who is well versed in both contemporary and classic techniques and will be responsible for training and facilitating during busy service at both lunchtimes and evenings and delivering high quality and ambitious theory sessions.

Responsibilities for the role:

  • Delivery of innovative and high-quality TL&A
  • Work within departmental budgets
  • Chef lecturer responsibilities for Glebegate and Glebe St (this may include evenings)
  • Delivery of theory and practical catering sessions including classic and contemporary
  • Day to day/ evening running of Glebegate and Glebe St kitchens
  • Development of competition involvement including offsite visits
  • Internal/ external quality assurance process
  • Completion of college tracking/ progress development
  • Menu planning for restaurants and competitions
  • Maintain student records relating to starting point, progression, and qualification tracking.
  • Work towards budget and expenditure plans.
  • Assessment of students in RWE
  • Marking of work completed and returned in a timely manor
  • Stock ordering and leasing with suppliers.
  • Safeguarding of students
