We are seeking to appoint an outstanding individual with a proven record in delivering internationally excellent research as Chair in Evidence Synthesis in the Centre for Reviews and Dissemination at the University of York. The successful applicant will lead projects within CRD’s NIHR Evidence Synthesis Group (ESG) and within the NIHR Technology Assessment Reviews (TAR) team, whilst developing a programme of research that aligns with CRD strategy and complements our existing areas of strength. The person appointed will collaborate with colleagues across the University as well as nationally and internationally. We are flexible about disciplinary background and specific research interests within the broad area of evidence synthesis, requiring a PhD in a relevant area, advanced research skills and an established international reputation in evidence synthesis. The successful candidate will have an excellent record of publishing high quality and high impact research and of winning significant research funding. They will have experience of working with stakeholders, managing research projects and teams, and delivering to deadlines. They will have previously made a significant contribution to leadership in research and professional activities and ideally aspire to future senior leadership roles. The person appointed will be collaborative, enthusiastic about supporting the development of early career researchers and committed to EDI as a value that underpins research culture and working practices. They will welcome the opportunity to develop and sustain a new research programme and to help shape CRD’s future development.
