Centre Administration Manager

As part of the University’s ambitious Internationalisation strategy, the Centre for Academic Language and Development is currently undergoing an exciting and rapid period of growth.

We are seeking to recruit an outstanding Centre Administration Manager (CAM) to join a large and vibrant professional services team to lead and develop the Centre’s Student Education Team, made of up Academic Advisors, Engagement and Progression Officer, Deputy Administration Managers, Senior Administrators and Administrators.

The role will be based in The Richmond Building with scope for blended working in line with University and School policy and guidance.

You will lead and manage the delivery of administrative services for a wide programme of educational activities across a 12-month cycle, often outside of normal university educational process.

You will ensure consistently high-quality assistance to all Centre staff and students, working closely with multiple university wide stakeholders to deliver tailored support mechanisms for international students, including a significant cohort of under 18’s, to ensure a positive and successful student experience.

You will be involved in workforce planning, recruitment, team training and development, and ensure continuous process improvement. You will work closely with the Centre’s Deputy Directors and Head of International Foundation Programme, and act as a key liaison with external marketing and recruitment partner, Kaplan.

You will also deputise for the Centre Manager as appropriate.

  • You have significant student administration experience and knowledge of the work practices, processes, and procedures relevant to education administration.
  • You have a creative and flexible approach to complex problem solving due to the Centre being atypical in terms of many University policies and procedures.
  • You have working knowledge of current UKVI issues and a grasp of current policy and regulatory issues affecting international students.
  • You have proven experience of leading teams, relationship building and positively managing change.
  • You have a commitment to continuing professional development, both for yourself and your team, and have experience of addressing identified needs.
  • You are able to work collaboratively and build strong working relationships and networks with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • You have excellent communication skills and an ability to work with a wide range of people from different cultural backgrounds.
