CDT Manager

The CDT Manager is responsible for the overall management of all aspects of administration of the COMPASS CDT Centre. Significantly contributing to the strategic and operational development of the Centre, including the CDT’s ethos, framework, committee structure and operating procedures, the post-holder will also contribute to initiatives which support the future development/continuation of the Centre’s work.   

COMPASS is an EPSRC-funded Centre for Doctoral Training in Computational Statistics and Data Science, offering students a 4-year PhD training programme in the statistical and computational techniques of data science, with partners from across the University of Bristol, industry and government agencies.  

  • Lead and manage on all aspects of the operational delivery of the Centre, maintaining and developing administration procedures within the Centre and including coordinating and managing the Centre’s calendar of activities e.g. Committee meetings
  • Contribute to the continuous operational and strategic development of the Centre, including initiatives which support the future development/continuation of work of the Centre
  • Monitor and manage the Centre’s budgets
  • Lead on and manage the Centre’s marketing and communication strategy
  • Act as a champion for the student experience, providing pastoral and wellbeing support to the students and facilitate interactions with other key personnel
  • Significant relevant experience of administration within a higher education or similar
  • Strong management skills with previous experience of managing budgets
  • Excellent communication, presentation and organisational skills
  • Good understanding of related developments in higher education/industry/funding environments

Contract type: Open ended with fixed funding until 30/09/2027

Work pattern: Full time

Grade: I

Salary: £37099 - £41,732 per annum
