Are you an experienced manager looking for a challenging role? Do you have the drive to manage a busy and successful academic Centre for Doctoral Training?   Do you have the skills to deliver a professional and supportive service to a diverse group of stakeholders including clinicians, academics, PhD research students and industry and NHS partners?

Our UKRI Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) is training a new generation of PhD research students with the expertise and knowledge to transform the pace and precision of medical diagnosis and care through the application of Artificial Intelligence. We are focussing on a single form of disease, cancer, where Leeds has an outstanding research and clinical reputation.

As Centre Manager, you will provide professional support to the Director of the Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) and the Management Board, and be responsible for its overall management, the wellbeing of our students, the delivery of administrative services, and reviewing and updating these services as the CDT evolves.

The role will embrace substantive academic administration and management functions and necessitate interactions with a wide range of stakeholders across the University of Leeds, including the School of Computing, Leeds Institute for Data Analytics (LIDA), the Doctoral College, Faculty of Engineering & Physical Sciences Graduate School Office, Finance, Marketing, IT and Human Resources. A core element of the role will be engagement with a significant number of external stakeholders and the management and expansion of these as the CDT evolves. Our stakeholders include the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (LTHT), industry partners, international university collaborators and the funding body (UKRI).

We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

What we offer in return

  • 26 days holiday plus approx.16 Bank Holidays/days that the University is closed by custom (including Christmas) – That’s 42 days a year!
