Casual – Programme Administrator – Psychology, Sport, and Geography

Rate of Pay: £14.50 per hour, plus 12.07% accrued holiday per total value.

Working Hours: Part Time – 19 Hours per Week

Duration: To start ASAP, ending in July 2024

The Geography, Environment and Planning Team, within the School of Life and Medical Sciences, are looking for a casual Programme Administrator to support with the MSc Environmental Management degree programme.

Main duties & responsibilities: 

•  To support the programme management team in the administration of the programme, undertaking projects as required.

•  To provide a high standard of administrative support, dealing effectively with all customer enquiries and information requests through multiple contact methods. Contact methods will include face-to-face, telephone, IT systems (e.g. email, SMS, Web) and other formats as appropriate.

•  To ensure that the agreed performance standards are always adhered to.

•  To work as part of an administrative support team dealing with enquiries and information requests from academic staff.

•  To acquire an understanding of the University’s Policies and Regulations, relevant to the area of work.

•  To acquire a good working knowledge relating to the administration of the programme, ensuring that effective administrative procedures are developed, practised, and maintained.

•  To maintain effective filing, storage and archiving electronic or manual systems with particular regard to quality audit requirements.

•  To ensure effective communication within the department and between the department and other (central) departments of the University.

•  To be aware of the need for continuous improvement of procedures and systems and make suggestions for improvement to the management team.

•  To ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, health and safety, data protection, copyright and licensing, security, financial and other University procedures, and codes of conduct, where appropriate.

Skills/Qualifications Required: 

•  Administration

•  Data Entry

•  Microsoft Office

•  Producing general correspondence of a confidential nature
