CAD Assistant

This is a great opportunity to work at the University of Bristol within the multi-disciplinary Campus Planning & Design team, alongside and under the guidance of CAD technicians, Space Planning Managers, and Learning Facilities Managers to gather and update surveyed property and furniture information as maintained by the Campus Planning & Design team.

Open ended with fixed-funding until 30/06/2025.

  • Assisting the CAD Technicians in checking drawings to be uploaded into the CAFM system or to be shared externally
  • Supporting the CAD Technicians and Space Planning Managers on producing new 3D scans of Campus buildings for use on cross-departmental projects
  • Providing support to the CAD Technicians and Space Planning Managers on producing test-fit furniture layouts for project proposals such as office or study space
  • Supporting the Campus Planning & Design team on annual space audits carried out across the campuses
  • Drafting or amending drawings in line with CAD Standards and/or University policies
  • Responding to enquiries from colleagues/ user groups

You have a passion for making a difference. You have knowledge and experience of using CAD software such as AutoCAD. Your proven CAD skills and knowledge of digital design software such as Revit and Sketch Up will be matched by your ability to learn quickly, your attention to detail, excellent communication skills and high levels of interpersonal and organisational skills.
