We have an exciting opportunity to join the Digital Transformation Programme as a Business Change Manager working in a hybrid arrangement with time onsite at University premises as required to complete the role, expectation is an average of at least 1 -2 days in the office per week.

The digital transformation programme is a major change initiative which is delivering change across five portfolios, Technology, Education, Research, Administration and Engagement & Dissemination as well as revising the existing governance arrangements and moving towards a more agile and service orientated delivery approach so that the users are at the heart of the change.

About the Role

  • This is a senior role and as a Business Change Manager and you will be working with a small team of change managers who will be instrumental in supporting a wider range of stakeholders and users through the governance changes to embed this new framework. You will also be involved in the introduction of the new agile service led delivery approach, which will initially involve supporting the Education portfolio in running a pilot to explore and refine the new ways of working.
  • In support of the above, there is a significant level of work required within IT Services and across the portfolios and functions to design the detailed new ways of working and prepare and support staff through the change and then through the subsequent wider roll out of these new ways of working.
  • A large part of the role is the stakeholder engagement across the University and as such this role offers significant exposure across the University and an opportunity for personal development at an exciting time for the University as the Digital Transformation programme progresses.

About You

  • These change managers will play a pivotal role in supporting the people side of change during this period of transformation, helping to shape the change strategy and implement it to ensure that staff and students have the preparation, support and skills they need. Thus, to be successful in this highly interesting and pivotable role, you will need to be someone who has a good knowledge of business change in general but this will need to be supported by a deeper level of practical experience within the people, process development and new ways of working elements of change when deploying change management tools and techniques.
  • You will need to have a good understanding of Higher Education, its stakeholder landscape and possess excellent inter personal and communication skills as well as being confident, adept and sensitive in managing a wide range of stakeholders at all levels across a highly complex and matrix environment. You will need a level of personal resilience and positive outlook as well as a desire to deliver real improvements in a global and highly regarded world class organisation.
  • We currently have 2 vacancies for a 24-month term either as a Secondment or Fixed Term Contract and are specifically looking for people who not only have experience in Business Change Management (as described above) but also have demonstrable experience of introducing behavioural change at an enterprise level commensurate with the size and scale of that being introduced at Oxford.
