Bioinformatician/Statistical Geneticist (1.0 FTE)

Grade of Post/Salary: Grade 7 £31,076 - £38,183 or Grade 8 £39,324 - £46,924, depending on experience.

Duration of employment: This position is full-time and available for 2 years in the first instance

Role Purpose

To strengthen the precision medicine research capacity in the GoDARTS group at Dundee, we are seeking a senior bioinformatician and/or a statistical geneticist who has a proven record of peer reviewed publication and can play a leading role in the Pearson group. This post will be ideal for scientists looking for a position to apply their analytical skills in a data rich environment. Over the last few years, the group has made a major contribution to the field of pharmacogenomics of metformin response and statin response. The post holder will have an opportunity to lead projects in functional characterization of drug response loci, take a systems biology approach to the drug response phenotype and glycaemic deterioration, or expand the investigations into other diabetes and non-diabetes phenotypes available (including all drug treatments, imaging data, diabetes complications, CVD outcomes).
This is a PhD  level role.  Candidates are expected to have a PhD in a numerate discipline, i.e. statistics, mathematics, epidemiology or equivalent.
