 About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an Associate Tutor in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

The department of Social Work and Wellbeing is a well-established and successful team within the Faculty of Health, Social Care & Medicine. The current portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes has experienced a growth in popularity over recent years, reflected in an increase in applications. These are contemporary and exciting programmes which aim to develop graduates who are highly employable and well equipped to work in the field of health and social care. The department is dynamic, forward thinking, innovative and research active, with a variety of programmes on offer. Our suite of programmes offers diverse opportunities for our students, whilst the diverse backgrounds of the academic team complement each other, leading to a collaborative and academically stimulating learning environment for students and staff.

 About You

As an Associate Tutor in Counselling and Psychotherapy, you will be able to support the diverse academic and personal needs of individual students as well as reflect on own skills and knowledge, and to seek opportunities to develop, you will be proactive and dynamic in your approaches to teaching, learning and assessment.  You will possess a keen interest and enthusiasm for in your subject area an a creativity to how you will impact knowledge and understanding.

To be successful in the role, you must have

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience of working with multiple modalities of counselling and psychotherapy
  • The ability to apply learning to real life situations, delivering research informed teaching and practical and skills experience.
