This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Coventry University's flagship Research Centres and to work alongside colleagues passionate about doing transformative research for social and environmental justice.
Coventry University has been investing strongly in research excellence, with an additional investment of £100 million in research, plus a total spend of £150 million in its estate and facilities. The University also established several Research Centres in 2014, one of which is the Centre for Agroecology, Water and Resilience (CAWR).
THE CENTRE FOR AGROECOLOGY, WATER AND RESILIENCE (CAWR)
The Centre for Agroecology, Water and Resilience (CAWR) was established in 2014 and is driving innovative, internationally excellent transdisciplinary research to understand and develop just and resilient food and water systems. Since its inception CAWR has been building a research team including Professors, Readers, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors and ECRs. To date CAWR has grown to over 60 research staff, with 50+ PhD researchers.
We are seeking to further strengthen our research team by appointing an Associate Professor to lead on a range of research-related activities, which will contribute to CAWR’s future success. The focus of the research will be on Gender, Power and the Right to Food.
This is a senior post for a very experienced researcher. Successful candidates have the exceptional opportunity to help shape the work and strategy of the Centre in this exciting phase and help drive our future growth. Limited teaching is expected, and this will be at Masters or PhD level
The post holder will lead and manage transdisciplinary research projects and develop relationships and collaborations that enhance the reputation of the University whilst advancing knowledge in the field. A key part of the role will be securing funding for projects that relate to the Centre's strategic priorities, as well as the dissemination of research findings through high quality academic journals and the media. Further details about our Research Themes and our priority areas can be found here: https://www.coventry.ac.uk/research/areas-of-research/agroecology-water-resilience/
The successful applicant will have significant research experience, demonstrate a track-record in securing research funding and publishing in high quality international journals as well as public engagement work.
