The above post is a fixed term contract and is available from 1st March 2023 to 30th August 2024 in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences.

The role

The role of Associate Lecturer/Lecturer (Education and Scholarship) will include supporting the student learning experience using a range of approaches and modes of delivery appropriate to the teaching allocated, for example to deliver a Special Study Unit on Global and Planetary Health for BMBS students, and to co-supervise MSc dissertations on the MSc Environment and Human Health at our Truro campus (although some teaching may be required in Exeter and Cornwall-based staff compensated for travel). 

About you

For a Associate Lecturer/Lecturer post you will:

  • Possess a depth or breadth of specialist knowledge demonstrated by a PhD (Optional or nearing completion), or equivalent qualification/experience, of the core knowledge relating to public and planetary in order to teach and support learning on relevant UGT and PGT modules primarily on the BMBS and the MSc in Environment and Human Health.
  • Use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students;
  • Participate in and develop external networks, for example, to contribute to student recruitment, secure student placements, facilitate outreach work, generate income, obtain consultancy projects, or build relationships for future activities;
  • Will have evidence of excellent teaching identified by peer review and have made an impact at discipline programme level beyond their own teaching;
