About the Role

We require an enthusiastic Assistant Tax Manager to play an important role within the QMUL Finance. The role is responsible for providing advice and supporting staff across the University to navigate the complex tax landscape that Queen Mary University of London operates within and providing support to ensure all appropriate tax obligations are discharged. The successful candidate will be predominantly responsible for the Employment Status and IR35 assessments, completing reverse charge VAT analysis on foreign purchases, compiling data for VAT return for QMUL and assist with any other tax related tasks.

About You

The ideal candidate will be a qualified or part qualified accountant with experience in employment status assessment and UK VAT. Candidates should possess a sound knowledge of relevant UK Tax Legislation and have a structured and logical approach to the completion of tasks.

About the Department

The role is based in the Finance Department of the Professional Services Directorate and is part of the growing Tax function and will be reporting to the Tax Manager.
