Assistant Professor in Sports and Exercise Medicine

Applications are invited for the above post based in Academic Orthopaedics, Trauma and Sports Medicine in the School of Medicine, University of Nottingham, located in Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham.

The successful candidate will assist the Course Directors and PGT Lead in the smooth running of the two MSc courses and co-convene taught postgraduate modules (such as the Physical activity in health and disease module, the MSK Health of the Injured Athlete module, and the Project and Dissertation module).  You will also assist with coordinating/delivering teaching and assessments of other modules as appropriate to your expertise and with tutoring of students. You will be expected to contribute to supervising the dissertation projects within the areas of Sports Medicine and will also require that research in the area of Sports Medicine is undertaken. 

Experience of teaching and examining postgraduate medical, health, or science students in a relevant topic, as well as research supervision experience is essential.  It is also a requirement that the candidate has a higher education teaching qualification (or recognition) and is clinically qualified (e.g. doctor or physiotherapist). You will be a team player who is able to work flexibly and respond positively to changing needs.  

A Satisfactory Enhanced disclosure obtained from the Disclosure and Barring Service is essential for this role.

The role is offered on a permanent basis and will be available from 1st August 2024. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours); however, applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week).
