The Heriot Watt Global College Dubai is seeking to make a full-time appointment of an Assistant Professor in Academic English. Many students in Dubai and around the world opt for the Global College’s Degree Entry Programme (DEP) as a sound means of bridging the qualification gap between school and university. The DEP smoothly transitions students into university life by equipping them with the study skills, research tools, and early course introductions to excel in their university career. Given the vast array of educational systems that students come from before entering our university, the DEP experience is an extremely valuable one in ensuring students success at Heriot-Watt. The successful applicant must hold a degree in a relevant discipline, a masters is desirable. The post holder will deliver high quality teaching to the students of the DEP, including the development of teaching and learning materials, identifying and supporting students who require extra assistance, as well as carrying out relevant administrative tasks. Previous teaching experience is essential. Programmes will be delivered in English and so fluency in English is also essential.
