Join our team as Assistant Director of Curriculum and Quality, leading academic excellence and student success at Teesside ISC. Drive innovation in teaching, learning, and assessment, ensuring outstanding collaboration with the University and Study Group network. Manage academic standards, quality assurance, and progression rates, reporting to the Centre Director.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Articulate and implement a clear vision to drive forward continuous improvement and enable the Centre to achieve aspirational targets for student success in line with Study Group’s Vision strategic pillars.
- Contribute to strategic planning and policy development in areas including human resources; academic development; learning, teaching, and assessment; and academic quality assurance.
- Identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats and identify appropriate actions to solve problems and enhance delivery.
- Provide effective and efficient academic leadership, management, and co-ordination of staff resources across the academic teams in the Centre, working closely with the Centre Director and the management team.
- Provide academic leadership to programme teams, taking overall responsibility for academic standards, the quality of learning opportunities, and the accuracy and completeness of published information, ensuring that these are managed appropriately and in accordance with the policies and procedures.
- Oversee the effective operation of various committee meetings as may be appropriate, and lead on the implementation of a Student Outcomes Plan.
- Lead on ensuring that the Centre is fully compliant with Study Group, Teesside University and relevant external agencies.
- As part of the Centre management team, contribute towards effective day to day management of the ISC including inducting staff, implementing health and safety policies, arranging cover for absent staff, responding to the views, needs and requests of students, Teesside University, staff, parents, and sponsors.
- Ensuring that timetables and assessment are scheduled efficiently, effectively and to deadlines, working with the Assistant Director Student Experience.
ABOUT YOU
- A bachelor’s degree and a postgraduate qualification (master’s or above) (Essential)
- Teaching qualification or HEA Fellowship (Essential)
- Further management or leadership qualifications or a willingness to undertake such (Essential)
- Experience of providing leadership in a complex multi-disciplinary environment, with recent evidence of significant success in bringing individuals together and forming a strong team ethos (Essential)
- Ability to delegate activities, set deadlines and take responsibility for overseeing their successful completion to meet challenging targets (Essential)
- Experience of planning and delivering change or continuous improvement in teaching & learning which achieved a positive impact on student outcomes (Essential)
