Administrator for the Institute of European and Comparative Law

The Institute of European and Comparative Law (IECL) is one of five institutes/centres in the Faculty of Law, and has its own dedicated space within the St Cross Building. The Administrator is responsible for all aspects of the administration of the IECL, as well as being the Administrator for the Law Faculty's 4-year Law with Law Studies in Europe (Course 2) degree and Student Exchange Programme.

The postholder is line managed by the Academic Administrator for Undergraduate Studies and works day to day with the Director of the IECL and the Director of the Course II programme. This is a key position within the student administration team in the Faculty, with strong ties to research, finance, development and HR teams. The successful applicant should be: educated to degree level or equivalent, with excellent communication skills; able to understand and apply University and Faculty policies and regulations, and to produce work to a high degree of accuracy; a highly competent IT user, with experience of using Microsoft Office applications (especially Word, Excel and Outlook).  They should have the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and students, and work as part of a small and close-knit team; the ability to manage relationships with academic and administrative colleagues in Oxford Colleges, and senior individuals in external institutions as well as senior academics visiting the Institute; good numeracy skills, and able to set and manage small budgets.  Experience of using the University’s eVision and ADSS systems and knowledge and experience of using the University’s Oracle financial software is desirable.

Due to the work involved with managing the Institute’s office space, including supporting visitors, please note that this role is based on-site at the Law Faculty.

The position is full time and permanent (subject to successful completion of probation period of 1 year). It is an interesting and varied position that offers an ideal opportunity for the right candidate.
