Loughborough University is offering a fantastic opportunity to join its Accounts Receivable (AR) team on a fixed 12-month contract in the role of Accounts Receivable Project Officer. The AR team sits within the Financial Control section of the University’s Finance Office and the primary function of the team is to ensure that payments to the University are received on time from both students and commercial partners.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working within a high-volume service orientated department and will hold good knowledge of finance procedures. Whilst a reasonable level of financial numeracy and competence in MS Excel is required, the most desirable attributes are the ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders, written proficiency, attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.

The primary focus of this role is to lead the collection of debt from students who have left the University under the close supervision of the Accounts Receivable Manager and Financial Controller. You will follow and streamline the process implemented by your predecessor and work closely with our external debt collection agency. The role involves a high degree of communication with students and parents through email and telephone. Where the requirements of the project allow, you will also undertake additional administrative duties, such as resolving student queries, and undertaking other project work.

This is a great opportunity to work at the heart of the Finance Office driving tangible, long lasting benefits for the University.
