The role and about you

The University of Southampton is seeking an accountancy assistant to provide support to the University’s Medicine finance department (based across Southampton General Hospital and Highfield campus) and their external customers. This interesting and varied role is on a full-time basis with a blend of office and remote working. 

The Faculty of Medicine Finance Team is part of University’s Professional Services Group Finance Directorate.  The team is interdisciplinary and work closely with our Financial Planning and other professional services team, while supporting Faculty of Medicine colleagues.  The role will cover supporting external funded post award management and a variety of financial task, such as supporting enterprise and education activities. You will use the University costing and accounting systems for which training will be provided.

To be successful you should be well organised, analytical, and self-motivated, with good communication skills, able to demonstrate a working knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and have a basic understanding of accounting. An interest in pursuing a financial qualification is desirable.
