Wrexham University's Faculty of Arts, Computing and Engineering is seeking a dynamic Lecturer in Animation. The prospective full-time lecturer will have a critical role within our diverse Design department, providing essential instruction in several subject areas such as graphic design, illustration, comics, and animation. Furthermore, they will be responsible for an element of teaching on the foundation Art & Design courses, infusing the curriculum with a commercial focus that addresses employer needs and expectations. The team currently exists of a Graphic Designer, Illustrator and Comic artist; therefore, we are looking for someone to deliver the animation element of the programme area, and enhancing our students experience. The Ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animation and a commitment to innovation in teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching in animation, while contributing o other disciplines within the design team.
  • Engage in research and scholarly activities.
  • Contribute to programme management and commercial activities.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record in animation.
  • Experience in teaching and either hold or working towards achieving the relevant teaching qualification.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable, however, not essential.
