An exciting opportunity has arisen within the College of Engineering & Physical Sciences. The Research Assistant will be responsible for carrying out approximately 50% of a major EPSRC-funded project, joint between the Aston University and University of Nottingham. The major part of the role of the Aston-based researcher will be experimental. This will include field investigations, design and development of new laboratory experiments to investigate tyre-water-road surface interaction at various traffic and environmental conditions. Whilst some of this capability already exists, it will need to be significantly extended.
As a member of a team working on this project, the researcher will work closely with academic staff at Aston University (Professor Mujib Rahman at [email protected] ) with technicians, and with the researchers at Nottingham University, since many of the project tasks will require input from both institutions.
Please refer to our Aston University benefits page where you can see how Aston recognises the contributions staff make and the comprehensive rewards and benefits packages available for staff.
We would particularly like to encourage applications from those returning to academia after a period of absence and women seeking to progress in their academic careers. Aston University is committed to the principles of the Athena SWAN Charter , recognised recently by a prestigious Gold Award to EPS, and we pride ourselves on our vibrant, friendly and supportive working environment and family atmosphere.
Aston University is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all sections of the community. It promotes equality and diversity in all aspects of its work.
