An exciting opportunity has arisen within the within the Aston University’s Department of Mechanical, Biomedical and Design Engineering. Successful candidates will be expected to be research active and demonstrate a sound experience in subjects related to biomedical data processing.

Applicants must have a first degree and a PhD in Biomedical, Medical, Clinical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

We are particularly keen to hear from applicants with research interests and a developing reputation in the areas of biomedical data processing and modelling, artificial intelligence and machine learning applied to medical data (signal and images).

At Research Associate level, we seek a candidate to contribute to, develop and enhance Aston’s research activities. In particular, the post holder will be integrated in a unique platform of researchers to accelerate the translation of innovations through clinical and commercial impact initiatives. This new post is seen as vital in allowing us to pursue innovation in biomedical research and very significant opportunities exist for the correct candidate to grow within the University.

Successful applicants are expected to play additional key roles in the operation of the subject group including coordinating various research projects within the research team, supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students, and helping with outreach activities. Where appropriate, there will also be opportunity for involvement in, or management of, key operational areas.
