The Procurement and Insurance Team is responsible for tendering/negotiating supplier contracts for goods, services, and works purchased by the University, managing corporate contracts, setting, and delivering a procurement strategy that contributes to achieving the University’s objectives, and managing all insurance policies held by the University and dealing with claims for/against the University.

Reporting to the Head of Procurement and Insurance and working closely with the Procurement and Insurance Services team, you will be responsible for providing administrative and analytical support to the procurement and insurance function in the University; including, managing internet web pages, managing work and savings logs, running ad hoc reports, assisting the team to run procurement projects, producing procurement communications, monitoring spending, approving new suppliers and dealing with internal and external enquiries.

The successful candidate will be educated to “O” level or GCSE standard or equivalent (including Maths and English). They will have experience of working in an administration role in a busy team, servicing a large customer base, and experience of interrogating various sources of data, and producing reports in a clear intelligent format. They will also be IT literate with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software, (including Word, Excel. PowerPoint, and Teams) and have the ability to produce high-quality written communication with both external and internal customers. The ideal candidate will have excellent time management the ability to prioritise and plan work effectively and strong interpersonal skills
