The Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) is a world-leading institute in global health with a particular focus on low- and middle-income countries. The Department of Epidemiology and Public Health (EPH) investigates distribution and causes of infections and non-communicable diseases. To understand and promote the well-being of people in different cultural and environmental contexts, EPH applies various methods ranging from anthropology and social science to biostatistics and mathematical modelling as well as observational cohorts with biobanks.
The current research project builds on an existent cohort in a rural setting of Côte d'Ivoire. Specifically, the participants of the cohort are undergoing a comprehensive follow-up. The research project focuses on non-communicable chronic diseases in a context of prevalent neglected tropical infections. The follow-up survey will consist of in-depth interviews on multidimensional health risks, health assessments, and biosampling contributing to a unique population-based biobank research infrastructure. This research project is a collaboration between scientific teams in Côte d'Ivoire and Switzerland.

Your position

• Lead the planning, organization, and execution of all aspects of the epidemiologic study.
• Implement the Standard Operational Procedures and address project requirements with regard to the rural setting.
• Work closely with scientific collaborators to align the implementation of the project with its goals and milestones.
• Foster strong communication and collaboration between local and international teams.
• Oversee the collection of questionnaire data, biologic samples, and health assessments in the rural setting.
• Monitor field activities to ensure adherence to protocols and ethical standards.
• Supervise the collection, entry, and storage of study data and adherence to data privacy.

Your profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or in a related field of lifesciences.
• Previous experience in coordinating epidemiologic studies welcomed, but not required.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing project needs.
• Proficiency in English and French (both written and spoken).
• Willingness to frequently travel to and work in remote Côte d'Ivoire

We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced and organized Study Coordinator to organize and supervise the implementation of our epidemiologic study. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in planning, organizing, and coordinating fieldwork activities and in managing local field workers. He/she will support the efficient flow of communication between field work and scientific partners.
