Offer Description

Social Media Internship

At the ETH Student Project House (SPH) we inspire and empower students to cultivate a maker and innovator mindset. We believe that by exploring their ideas and developing their own projects, students gain valuable hands-on experience and learn important skills for their future. This is why we’ve created an ecosystem where students (Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral) are encouraged to ideate, build prototypes, test and refine them.

Our interdisciplinary team of thirty people provides students that want to pursue extracurricular projects of various types and scales with a comprehensive range of support. We have a co-working, ideation, and event space and offer coaching. On the other hand we have a greatly equipped Makerspace that gives students access to the tools and equipment they need to prototype, including over 50 3D printers.

As we are in a phase of growth, we’re looking for a Social Media Intern. Read on to see if that might be you!

Project background

You’ll work in one of the most inspiring spaces at ETH Zürich, surrounded by brilliant students, 3D-printers, ideation equipment, self-designed furniture, and most importantly an inspiring community.

  • We’re located on two campuses: ETH Zentrum and ETH Hönggerberg
  • We work in the same open space as our project teams and meet with everyone at eye level. The individuals we work with are from a diverse range of backgrounds and study disciplines, which is why we communicate in English
  • We offer an internship for 6 to 12 months

Job description

You’ll be responsible for the following tasks:

Social Media

  • You'll be active on our Social Media channels (Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok) recognising trends and motivating our community to interact and share their achievements
  • You'll create our channels content, from stories, images, videos to copy. You will feature our offers (events, makerspace, ideaspace), our inspiring projects and the students behind them

  • Next to our Social Media channels, you are also working on our newsletters, our newly designed webpage, off-line media as well as communication materials in the space
  • You'll create integrated marketing campaigns to promote various events, workshops and also to drive awareness of our brand
  • You will help adapting our strategy based on data analytics and reports
  • You will help ensuring consistency of our communication and correct application of brand guidelines as well as brand strategy across our channels and by all team members
  • You realise your own ambitious ideas to help ETH students with their projects

Your profile

We need your expertise to support our students and the team:

  • You are at the end of your Bachelor studies or in your Master studies or have recently finished either of them
  • You have marketing & content creation knowledge and have worked with professional creative tools like the Adobe Creative Cloud (e.g. Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Aftereffects)
  • You can show us your content creation skills
  • You are familiar with the most important social media platforms and have creative experience on these platforms
  • You enjoy working with people and you’re passionate about supporting them
  • You are able to react flexibly in urgent situations and you work well with ad-hoc requests/ideas
  • You are also willing to work on some evenings if events are taking place then

A note: research indicates that women and individuals from marginalized groups tend to apply only when they meet all of the criteria. If you believe you’re qualified, but don’t necessarily check every box, please submit an application.
