UZH Global Affairs strengthens the university's global network and collaboration with partner institutions and international stakeholders with the aim to enhance our impact and visibility around the world. Our team coordinates the implementation of the Global Strategy 2030 across the University and supports the Executive Board in shaping the university's external relations.
Your responsibilities
We are looking for a versatile talent (m/f/d) with a global mindset and a strong interest in partnership management to join our Global Networks team. Part of Global Affairs, the team ensures sustainable partnerships and facilitates platforms for UZH to position itself globally. In doing so, we focus on coordinating and supporting UZH's network and partnership activities.
As an experienced and dedicated project manager you take care of UZH's strategic partnerships and alliances. In this role you will:
  • manage and develop the relationship with your counterparts at existing and potential strategic partner universities
  • take responsibility for the management and development of the UZH Global Strategy and Partnerships Funding Scheme (including financial responsibility)
  • organize governance meetings with strategic partners and create briefing documents and reports for UZH's executive board
  • design, implement and maintain a contract policy for international collaborations with partner universities
  • negotiate, review and draft agreements with various partner universities
  • lead a student assistant and collaborate closely with the team members and team lead of Global Networks

Your profile
For this role, you will be a great fit if you
  • have a higher education degree and at least three years of working experience as a project manager. Knowledge of the (Swiss) higher education and research area is an additional asset.
  • enjoy working with people from various backgrounds and you love talking to and presenting in front of various stakeholders and audiences.
  • are experienced in managing budgets for complex projects and enjoy financial planning.
  • speak both English and German at near-native standard, both in writing and spoken.
  • have a strong interest in topics and services related to research and education and you keep up to date with politics in Europe and the world.
  • are open-minded, curious and passionate about the impact and benefits of collaborative international education and research. You love working as part of a team and are able to manage and influence laterally. You tend to see solutions rather than problems.

Start of employment
1 April 2023 or upon agreement. The position is temporary for 1 year with the prospect of a permanent placement.
