Offer Description
The Clinic of Orthopedics and Traumatology at the University Hospital Basel in Switzerland is currently seeking a postdoctoral fellow to work within the Cartilage Engineering and the Tissue Engineering groups at the Department of Biomedicine (DBM) in the area of joint tissue repair, focusing on engineering of osteochondral grafts. The Clinic of Orthopedics and Traumatology, directed by Prof. Andreas Müller, aims at implementing innovative regenerative cell-based therapies for the treatment of degenerative diseases in the joint. The Tissue Engineering group (directed by Prof. Ivan Martin) and the Cartilage Engineering group (directed by Prof. Andrea Barbero) are interdisciplinary teams with expertise in the biological and engineering sciences, as well as clinical trials with cell-based treatments for musculoskeletal tissue regeneration. The DBM is a joint effort between the University of Basel and the University Hospitals Basel. It unites basic and clinical scientists to advance our understanding of health and disease and to develop pioneering therapies benefiting the lives of patients in areas of unmet need. With more than 70 research groups and 900 employees, the Department of Biomedicine is the largest department at the University. We are located in the heart of Basel at 6 different locations. Be part of our future!
