Faculty Position in Microfluidics and Biology on Chip

The Institute of Electrical and Micro Engineering is soliciting applications for a faculty position in the field of microfluidics and biology on chip at the rank of Tenure Track Assistant Professor.

With the tremendous progress in the general field of microfluidics and biology on chip, we seek candidates with demonstrated excellence in the science and technology of microsystems for control, manipulation, and interrogation of fluids and biological media.   We are seeking top-level applicants with research interests in the broad area of microfluidics and biology on chip.   Candidates may cover topics in fundamental engineering and topics with application emphasis.   Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

(i)   nanopore transport,
(ii)  digital/droplet microfluidics,
(iii) nanofluidics across (bio)membranes,
(iv) hybrid living/inorganic microsystems,
(v)  growth and manipulation of cells on chip,
(vi) organoids and organs on chip,
(vii) microfluidic wearable and implanted systems,
(viii) analytical and reactor microfluidics, including spectroscopy, separation, and microreactors.

We seek candidates with an outstanding research record, a strong commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and who will be proactive members of the Electrical and Micro Engineering and Bioengineering communities.  Applicants should demonstrate a potential for strong and constructive collaborations with a large community of scientific research partners, including in both academia and industry.

As a faculty member of the School of Engineering, the successful candidate will be expected to initiate and develop an independent and creative research program, as well as to participate in undergraduate and graduate teaching.
