At the Department of Ecology and Genetics (IEG), we are seeking a research engineer (25%) to manage our departmental facility for experiments under controlled climate conditions. Our climate facility consists of 14 climate-controlled room, 5 climate-controlled cabinets and two greenhouses. The research engineer is associated with the division of plant ecology and evolution.

Duties
The research engineer will organize and maintain the climate facility. Tasks include allocating space to users, documenting use, and providing introductions and technical support to users (climate settings). The research engineer will further control the functionality of the facility and interact with technical staff for troubleshooting, reporting and alleviating any malfunctions. Further tasks are pest control, ordering of supplies used in the climate facility and organizing replacement staff for the climate facility during holidays. The research engineer is expected to participate in the IEG lab engineer group and to broaden tasks to support in an ecology lab when needed. 

Qualifications required
A MSc degree in biology or related field, extensive previous experience working with organisms in climate-controlled rooms, cabinets and greenhouses, education and experience in plant cultivation, as well as experience with written and oral communication in an international workplace. Candidates must be able to express themselves fluently in spoken as well as written English and Swedish. Experience with research experiments is further important.

We are looking for an independent, dedicated person with a talent for organization, who enjoys communication with colleagues in an international environment. Personal suitability is of great importance, such as the ability to take own initiatives and to manage the climate facility independently.
