The position

We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven person with at least a Masters degree in Medical Biosciences with a proven track record of cell culture work involving T cell acute lymphoblastic cell lines. You should also be interested in pursuing a PhD in the subject in the future. Your work will, among other things, involve carrying out both cell culture experiments with using cancer cells as well as generating DNA methylation data involving DNA extraction, library preparation and sequencing. Furthermore, you will perform cytotoxicity analysis using flow cytometry and AlamarBlue and protein expression analysis with Western Blot. The work will also include CRISPR knockout of selected genes in human T cells.

You should be willing and positive to learn bioinformatics analysis of DNA methylation data using R.

You will be required to present your work regularly at our group meetings, but also at national and international conferences.

The person we need

The key to the position is practical experience of:

 - cell culture work, especially in the context of acute lymphoblastic leukemia with T cells.

 - work with DNA methylation inhibitors.

 - AlamarBlue analysis, flow cytometry and Western Blot.

 - CRISPR in human T cells including single-cell sorting and Sanger sequencing analysis.

 - molecular biology techniques.

Detailed documented theoretical knowledge of T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia and DNA methylation is needed for this position.

You will have excellent communication and scientific presentation skills. You will have demonstrated ability to work in a international team. It is also meriting if you have experience working with novel reversible DNA methylation inhibitors in the context of T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

You should be a team player with a calm and positive attitude, with enthusiasm for research. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.

The position requires very good oral and written skills in both English and Swedish. 

The workplace

You will work at the Division of Children's and Women's health (BKH) , in Colm Nestor's research group .

The Nestor Group is a large international and expanding group that combines clinical research, molecular biology, genomics and big data analysis to gain insights into the molecular origins of disease.
