Are you ready to take on an exciting role as a Project Coordinator for our groundbreaking PEPS study? We are looking for a committed and goal-oriented individual who wants to be part of our large multinational and multicenter study. The PEPS study is conducted by the medical unit for Neonatology at Karolinska Hospital and focuses on investigating the effects of probiotic supplementation to breast milk for extremely premature infants (PEPS trial, ClinicalTrial.gov identifier No.: NCT05604846). As a Project Coordinator, you will play a central role in driving and coordinating this important project, which includes all regional hospitals in Sweden and all Danish university hospitals.


Your mission

The Project Coordinator is responsible for effectively organizing and coordinating research teams in Stockholm as well as nationally and internationally, with regular joint meetings being convened. Your main responsibility encompasses coordinating and monitoring the entire progress of the study. This includes actively monitoring and supporting the recruitment process, ensuring smooth transfer of study patients from regional hospitals to satellite hospitals, and securing the availability of study products at all locations. Additionally, your tasks include monitoring and managing all documentation related to the study.

In collaboration with the principal investigator (PI), you are responsible for ensuring that the study adheres to established Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines. You are encouraged to continuously optimize and streamline processes to ensure smooth implementation of the study.

Your duties also include handling data collection, transportation logistics, communication with national and international collaborators, cost estimations, as well as reviewing and negotiating agreements with various stakeholders, both internally and externally.

Furthermore, you are responsible for coordinating and monitoring patient follow-up, including arrangements for instrumental examinations. Your role is of central importance in ensuring an effective and successful implementation of the study.


Your profile

We are seeking a Project Coordinator with the ability to manage a large and complex multinational and multicenter study. The individual needs to have the capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, communicate effectively with all study stakeholders, possess problem-solving skills, and be available. It is important that the person has knowledge of electronic data management of various kinds, as well as good skills in Excel and RedCap. Fluency in both spoken and written Swedish and English is also necessary. While no medical background is absolutely necessary, some basic medical understanding is desirable.

Requirements:

  • Degree in healthcare, preferably in nursing, medicine, biomedicine, pharmacology, or nutrition.
  • Good knowledge and training in GCP (Good Clinical Practice) as well as the laws/regulations and guidelines that underpin how clinical studies of various kinds should be conducted.
  • Very good English skills (both written and spoken) and Swedish.
  • Experience working in large groups, good communication skills, and leadership ability.
  • Strong computer skills including working with various IT systems and the Microsoft Office suite.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in research work including pediatric patients.
  • Experience in project management and administration within research.
  • Own research activity or research merits.
  • Knowledge of statistics.
  • Knowledge in nutritional science or microbiology/molecular biology.
  • Knowledge of German is advantageous.

This is a temporary (one-year) position as a Project Coordinator. The scope of the position can be full-time or part-time by agreement, but with a minimum scope of 50%.
