Division

The role is based at the Department of Women's and Children's Health. The successful candidate will explore the cellular and molecular mechanisms governing skeletal growth during physiology and pathology in vivo using mouse models, ex vivo using human biopsies, and in vitro using cell culture models.


Duties
  • Develop and implement research projects in conjunction with
  • PI Independently design, conduct, execute and analyse experiments
  • Actively follow and implement the scientific literature
  • Write and edit manuscripts
  • Actively participate in collaborative lab and project meetings
  • Support our collaborative research environment and guide colleagues with technical and operational aspects of scientific research
  • Assist in laboratory requirements (eg. training and compliance)
  • Present work at international conferences

The successful candidate will apply and develop protocols including in vitro and ex vivo culture (2D and organoid), size exclusion chromatography, nanoparticle tracking analysis, flow cytometry, super-resolution microscopy, ex vivo organ culture, spatially resolved transcriptomics, histological and histochemical staining, immunofluoresence, electron microscopy and other relevant technologies, as applicable. The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to work towards scientific independence.


Your profile

To be eligible for employment as a postdoctor a doctoral degree or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree is required. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled at the latest at the time of the employment decision. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person with a curious mind who is passionate about furthering knowledge and health through scientific research. You must be highly motivated and detail-oriented.

The successful candidate should:

  • hold a PhD in molecular or cellular biology, biochemistry, bioengineering or a very closely-related discipline
  • be structured and responsible
  • have an inquisitive mentality
  • enjoy working as part of a team
  • be fluent in written and spoken English
  • have expertise in standard techniques of molecular biology and cell biology

Expertise in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous:

  • stem cell biology
  • skeletal growth research
  • working with extracellular vesicles/other nanoparticles in biological settings
  • endosomal trafficking
  • radiation oncology

The head of the department determines whether their previous training and scholarly qualifications correspond to a Swedish doctorate or higher.
